Frequently Asked Questions

Who will be providing my care?
At Primetime Weight Loss, your care is led by a licensed medical provider with advanced training in obesity medicine. You’ll receive evidence-based treatment and ongoing support, just as you would in a physician-led clinic.
What makes your program different from other weight loss programs?
Unlike fad diets or quick fixes, our program is medically supervised and tailored to each patient. We combine behavior therapy, nutrition planning, exercise support, and—when appropriate—prescription medications to help you achieve safe, sustainable results.
Do you prescribe weight loss medications like GLP-1 agonists (e.g., Wegovy®, Zepbound®, Ozempic®)?
Yes, we prescribe FDA-approved weight loss medications when clinically appropriate. Medications are never a “one-size-fits-all” solution—we carefully evaluate your medical history, goals, and lab results before recommending pharmacological therapy.
Will insurance cover my weight loss treatment or medications?
Coverage varies widely by plan. Some insurances, including TennCare, may cover certain medications, but many do not. We help you explore your benefits and provide cost-effective options if insurance does not cover treatment.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Results vary depending on your starting point, health conditions, and level of engagement. Most patients can expect steady, safe weight loss of 1–2 pounds per week on average. Our goal is long-term success—not rapid, unsustainable loss.
  • High blood pressure

  • Type 2 diabetes or prediabetes

  • High cholesterol

  • Sleep apnea

  • Fatty liver disease

  • Osteoarthritis or joint pain

  • Other related medical concerns

Do I have to take medication to be part of the program?
Not at all. Many patients succeed through nutrition, exercise, and behavioral strategies alone. Medications are offered only when beneficial and always as part of a comprehensive plan.
Can weight loss really improve my other health conditions?
Yes. Even a 5–10% reduction in body weight can lower blood pressure, improve blood sugar, reduce cholesterol, and lessen symptoms of conditions such as sleep apnea, anxiety, and depression. Weight loss can also reduce the need for certain medications.
  • Support safe and effective weight loss
  • Reduce health risks associated with excess weight
  • Promote long-term weight management
  • Enhance overall well-being and quality of life
How often will I have appointments?
Most patients start with visits every 2–4 weeks for close monitoring and support. As you progress, we adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals.
Is this program safe for people with medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease?
Yes. Because our program is medically supervised, we can safely manage weight loss in patients with chronic conditions. We also adjust your medications as your health improves.
Do you offer virtual or in-person visits?
Yes—we offer both. In-person visits allow for physical exams and direct coaching, while telehealth visits provide flexibility and convenience when appropriate.
